Inspiration 002

SUBMARINE (2010) DIR. RICHARD AYOADE

Last weekend, I took a break from studying to watch Submarine, thus ticking off another movie from my long list of to-watch films. Submarine is a coming-of-age narrative that's raw and real. It deals with adolescent issues like first loves, first kisses, awkward transitions into adulthood, and more. What's relatable about this film is that nothing is glamourised; it almost seems like you are watching your own teenage years onscreen. The characters are endearing, the feelings are bittersweet, the humour is dry, and the experience is a ride.
