Notes on the New Year

2016 has been a rather fulfilling year. The past 12 months have been filled with moments of self-discovery. At the end of my freshman year in college, I began to realise how easy it was for one to get caught up in the rat race - even more so in such a competitive university as SMU. This prompted me to relook my life priorities and find out what truly mattered. The result was, more quality time with family, reconnected friendships, and a practice that helped me study smart. I finally decided to pursue my creative passions, hence the makeover of my blog into a serious curation of my life's inspirations. This year, I hope you guys do what you are passionate about too. Remember what you truly love and pursue it, even if it's simply a side hobby. The cosmopolitan life is a mad mad rush; don't forget to stop every once in a while to smell the roses.

More importantly, we need to be politically and socially aware in face of impending uncertainties ahead. 2017 looks to be an uncertain sociopolitical and economic roller coaster. Talk about issues you rightfully believe in. Educate people on injustices, speak out for the oppressed. You will be surprised at how big your voice can be, especially on social media. Make yourselves heard. Be the change you want to see in the world.

Here's to an incredible year ahead.
